Festival Season Inspirations

Festival season is almost ready to kick off, even though the weather in the UK is still cold and wet we are still preparing for the upcoming season. Braiding is going to be huge again this festival season, already #infinitybraid is starting to trend on Instagram with over 9000 tags already. Colour and accessories will remain popular.

#infinitybraid is gaining lots of instagram posts, if your looking for hair inspo follow these expert braiders. One of my hair crush girls Hester Wernet worked with Wella recently and shared an Instagram post showing how to create the #infinitybraid. Watch here

These are your key trends for this festival season

Natural hair texture –

Are you ready to embrace your natural texture? I try to love my hair but feel it can age me. I go through periods where I leave it curly, at the weekends I more often than not leave it curly as I tend to wear it straight for work. The key is finding the right product to tame your texture. My hair is quite fine so I use a cream so it won’t go fluffy. I am really enjoying the Sebastian Twisted range at the moment.

This is the only picture of me with curly hair. Yes or No?

This trend has been emerging for a while, follow #Naturalhair #kinkychicks  #teamnatural #naturalhaircommunity #naturalhairstyles #naturalcurls hashtags for more inspo.

Bright Nails –

I am addicted to nails and having recently gone through 6 months of restoring my nails after 20 years of acrylics I am really excited by the continuation of the natural nail movement. You need to bring some new bright nail varnish into your kit. I am also loving the ombre trend that I am currently wearing, perfect for the festival season.

Pastel hair – I am a little scared to try this trend, I adore the pastel tones but worry about the weeks afterwards as it is fading out of the hair. I have have seen many girls with pastel pink fade out that has turned yellow. But I have recently discovered something new and almost feeling confident to try this trend (my other worry is will I look like I a trying to hard with being 46)!

If you’re worried about the fade you need to try the new Wella Colour Create. These gorgeous tones fade out true to colour without the worry of the dreaded nicotine coloured hair for weeks after. The pastel shades that are going to be popular are apricot, duck-egg blue and pastel pink. Have I convinced you?

I’d love to hear and read any comments, let me know if you would like any advice.

Love Jo x
