I have had a week of parties and ghd wonderfulness this week! On Monday night we said farewell to the ghd style squad team 17/18

I can’t believe another year has flown by so quickly, now in it’s 7th year we have had some amazing talent pass through the ghd finishing school. Many have been seen nominated for industry awards and have gone on to do some amazing things with their careers. It makes us so proud to know that we can help young stylists to explore the industry under the safe wing of ghd.

Feeling like a veteran of the industry I know how hard it is to find your niche in this ever changing industry, even more so now as it evolves and changes so quickly. The ghd style squad is a way of getting to explore the industry, we expose them to events and they get mentored by some amazing talent in the industry allowing them to grow their skills, from hair styling to social media and fashion history we share it all.

This years team have been particularly spoilt with having 24/7 access to the queen of styling  Zoë Irwin and have been led by the wonderful Lorna Baker who has put together a year like no other.
The team have been set a series of projects which have allowed them to studied Jean-Michel Basquiat and Patti Smith through books, movies, exhibitions and more. At the leaving party we got to see the amazing work the team put into their projects.

“We’re so proud of our style squad,” says team leader, Lorna Baker. “Every year, we’re excited to hunt out the most talented young hairdressers in the country and help them grow. This year’s team have been incredible. They’ve risen to every creative challenge and produced work that’s pushed boundaries and made them think – we can’t wait to see where they go next.”
