This week I travelled to Dubai for the Hair and Beauty trade show Beauty World Dubai we were hosted by the Nazih Cosmetic group and showcasing ghd. We had a beautiful stand and stage show. This is my blog about my whirlwind trip to Dubai.
Travel * Hotels * Beach * Restaurants * Show * Hair
I travelled with some UK work colleagues who are always good fun Ross Leibbrandt, Dafydd Thomas (my right hand) and Robert Resnick from Hong Kong. We arrived early Sunday morning and after a quick freshen up we headed to Club Mina where you can buy day passes for 220 AED (£44) you get access to 5 pools with various shaded options. We moved around a little bit and worked our way from one end to the other finishing with happy hour in the pool bar as the sun set. There are plenty of restaurants next to the pool areas and we stayed to eat at Bussola Italian. It’s a great atmosphere and lots of ex-pats hang out in the pool area.
Back to business! We gave training at the gorgeous Rossano Feretti salon, introducing the Dubai team to ghd.
We stayed at the Novotel at the World Trade centre, this is perfect as you don’t even have to go out side to get to the exhibition space. Beauty World Dubai is the largest international trade fair for beauty products, hair, fragrances and wellbeing in the Middle East, and one of the top 3 exhibitions worldwide. 1700 companies exhibit over 3 days, this event is huge! On the opening night we attended the exhibitors dinner which sounds rather dull but this is a night to be seen. This is a dinner for 2000 people!
Our good friends from Blow out and go Dubai treated us to a wonderful evening at Billionaire Mansion, Paria and Ali promised to show us the real Dubai! I don’t need to tell you much about this, I’ll just let the photos do the talking! Amazing night with wonderful people, this place had me lost for words and I loved it!
We had a great few days away, talked to a lot of people, not much sleep but all worth it! We also learnt that when an air stewardess spills a drink over your laptop its not going to work again….. that was the end of Ross’s email catch up on the flight home 🙁
