30 Things I would have liked to have known when I was 18

I turned 46 (not sure how this happened) last month and I honestly don’t know where the time has gone. I feel like I was starting my apprenticeship in hairdressing only last year. The blink of an eye!! I love reading blogs and learning but without trying to sound like your Mum I thought I would share my wisdom.

There are many things I wish I had have know, and if I could turn back time to tell my younger self a few things, this would be it.

  1. Life is not perfect and it does not have to be
  2. You have to kiss a few frogs before finding your prince
  3. Once a liar always a liar
  4. Trust your gut instinct
  5. Don’t be swayed by a charmer
  6. New shoes give you confidence
  7. It’s OK to say no
  8. Always sleep on a major decision
  9. Share your decisions with your loved ones, they care
  10. Spend time finding out about you
  11. Learn to love life on your own
  12. Do what you love and not what other people expect
  13. Find your voice
  14. Your opinion matters
  15. Start your pension early, time goes too quick
  16. You need money in life and it’s not fun without it
  17. If it’s hard work it will be worth it
  18. It’s fine to change your mind
  19. Find a job you love, you spend most of your life there
  20. You don’t have to pick your forever career at 16
  21. Change is good it makes you stronger
  22. Don’t move out of home too soon
  23. Sleep is your best friend, it makes you look younger
  24. What you do in your teenage years affects you later years skin
  25. Friendships dont’ last forever
  26. Surround yourself with positive people
  27. Social media lifestyle is not real
  28. Don’t tell people how to behave its not cool
  29. Live your life for you
  30. Push yourself to do new things, talk to new people and experience life

Happily ever after

Any mistakes are learnings and build who you are. Live your life for you and be happy,

Love Jo x
