CREATIVE HEAD IT LIST AND MOST WANTED AWARD 2017

Monday nights Creative Head awards is the start of a busy time of year for the industry. There are many awards ceremonies, and of course the busiest time of the year for the hard working stylists. As we say goodbye to summer, this night is the start of the celebrations.

I have been lucky enough to be involved with these awards. 7 years now as of ghd who sponsor the IT list awards, and also part of the judging panel for The Most Wanted Awards.

These awards are a great chance to spot young emerging talent in the industry and a fantastic launch pad for many careers. Entering these awards will allow you to be seen by many industry legends. Errol Douglas MBE, beauty expert Alice Hart-Davies, Lauren Murdoch-Smith from Vogue, and session stylist Zoë Irwin to name but a few.

Six hundred Most Wanted and IT List Grand Final guests dined in the Guildhall’s magnificent medieval Great Hall – it feels like a wonderful place to recognise industry talent.

The queen of Creative Head Catherine Handcock opened the awards, talking about how the industry is changing and the super talented stylists that have entered the awards getting stronger and stronger each year. I always look forward to the host at this event and this year was not let down. This year we had our first female comic – the amazing Catherine Ryan. Her quick witted comedic style and hairdressing chat really got the party started.

The IT list sponsored by ghd, first celebrates all the young creative talent. The big winner of the night – was Sophia Hilton of ‘Not Another Salon’, who scooped four titles including Most Wanted Colour Expert
